South sands sailing was established in 2000, since then we have been teaching and coaching people of all ages how to respect and enjoy the waters around our beautiful setting of Salcombe, South Devon. With Sailing, Surfing and Kayaking we have a perfect blend of watersports to try, understand and master, so you can really appreciate what the water can give. Our ethos is to use watersports to promote self esteem, team work and confidence associated with an active lifestyle, after all its good for the soul! With our fun and professional coaching team, plus our unique teaching ratios we pride our selves on, coupled with our fantastic choice of watersports you, the family and friends are just a click or call away from a fantastic experience.

SAILING
South sands sailings choice of vessels are Hobie cats, we strongly believe that the stability and adrenaline that these catamarans offer is second to none. Perfectly suited to the conditions we teach in and the destinations we sail to. The catamaran offers the platform for begginers to advance quicker and with our 2:1 teaching ratio –adult sessions- you are sure to be enjoying your new activity the minute you are on board.

STAND UP PADDLE SURFING
Originating in Hawaii in the 1940’s stand up paddling is making a massive come back, be it’s amazing fitness qualities as well as the first rush you get on your first wave this sport is here to stay. Be it exploring the beautiful surroundings in Salcombe or cross stepping to the nose of your board this activity truly is good for the soul.

KAYAKING
With out a shadow of a douht kayaking is still the most popular watersport out there, purely due to the fact that it is so versatile. We at south sands run guided tours in this area of outstanding natural beauty as well as coaching people the art of paddling. We use sit on top kayaks specifically designed to cover long distance, and while out on the water we show you things you can’t see by any other craft.

Hen or stag do? fancy rewarding your team for their hard work? We have tailor made activity options for you. Half day activities enclude the awesome Hobie Race experience, kayak excursions or multi activity sessions.
